Solvi Jacket **PDF** Pattern

The Solvi is a beginner friendly, unlined jacket pattern that I created for Tauko Magazine Issue no. 4. It is inspired by the traditional Norwegian folk costume my grandmother used to wear. 
 
I designed the jacket to be made in boiled wool, meaning you don't need to finish the edges - just cut and go! It makes a wonderful dressy cardigan or a casual blazer. If you want to make the jacket in other fabrics, I've included lines on the pattern that you can copy to make facings. 
 
Style
 
An easy little jacket that can be worn as a cardigan or casual blazer. It is fairly short but easy to lengthen. It's got a little swing in the back which I really like in jackets and reminds me of 60's silhouettes. 
 
Experience level
 
This pattern is suitable for confident beginners.
 
Fabric choice
 
Make this jacket in boiled wool or other wool fabrics that won't fray when cut. If you sew the jacket using facings you can also use any medium jacket fabric with a little drape to it.
